Too young to succeed

You may not be a football fan, but you have probably heard names like Eduardo Camavinga, Giovanni Reyna and Ansu Fati in recent months.

Kids who are currently making the headlines in world football’s elite and are barely coming of age. So far, pressure does not seem to have made a dent in their play and they have become mainstays of their respective teams. Although it is difficult to predict what will become of them in the future, from their environment they indicate that they are keeping their head in the right place. They just want to have fun on a pitch and be able to transmit that joy and confidence to anyone who wants to watch one of their games.

Well, this post is not going to be about them. On the contrary, it puts the spotlight on players with a promising future who blew it.

SAMIR NASRI

The French-Algerian footballer is equally creative and irresponsible. His skills with the ball are only comparable to his off-field scandals. He is currently without a team, having terminated his contract with R. S. C Anderlecht. A diamond that did not get polished despite trying his luck at Arsenal, Manchester City or Seville.

MARIO GOTZE

The star of the 2014 World Cup final between Germany and Argentina. Since then, the skilful midfielder has been unable to straighten out his career, despite defending the shirt of his country’s two greats. Numerous injuries and a significant metabolism problem have kept him away from the fields. Now that he has arrived as a free agent to PSV Eindhoven, he is looking to regain his best version in the land of the tulips.

MARIO BALOTELLI

Because of his conditions, he was destined to mark an era in Italy, both at club and national team level. However, his ego and character have taken over. It seems that even with a manager like Mino Raiola he is not able to lift his head. His power in the area caught the attention of both Milan teams and Liverpool, among others. Currently, after his journey in the French League, he is without a team.

RICARDO QUARESMA

An eccentric guy with magic in his feet. The Portuguese footballer, trained at one of the best academies in Portugal, stood out for his shot and his unbalance. This was seen by teams like FC Barcelona, Inter Milan and Porto. Even so, it seems that his sublime football never left Portugal. Stricken from not performing on important occasions, he has now returned home after his time in the Turkish League to give his final touches.
